Mg-RE계 고온용 합금의 특성과 최근 연구 동향

개요

For the applications in automotive, aircraft, aerospace and electronic industries, the lightest structural Mg alloys have received much attentions since year 2000. There have been some progress for the improvement of the mechanical properties such as room temperature strength, formability and mechanical anisotropy. However, the high temperature strength of Mg alloys is very low to be used for the parts and structures of high temperature conditions. From about 10 years ago, much efforts are concentrated for the development of Mg alloys to be used at high temperature. Newly developing Mg-RE alloys are the good examples for the high temperature use. In this regard, this review paper introduces the recent research trends ordered (LPSO) structures related RE elements.
